Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade

The first capital of Mato Grosso, the small village of Vila Bela da SantissímaTrindade is one of the most interesting touristic sites in Mato Grosso for visitors who are interested in culture and history. At the heart of Vila Bela, there are the ruins of a cathedral dated from the colonial period, which  was built by slaves. The local people still keep the traditions of the slaves from that time. One of its main cultural events is the Dança do Congo, performed at the ancient ruins of the former cathedral. The town serves as a hub for trips to the Amazon forest along the upper Guaporé river and the nearby nature reserve of Parque Estadual da Serra de Ricardo Franco. One of the park’s main attractions is the Namorados’s Waterfall. There you can go hiking on safety trails following the creeks which begin in a crystal clear lake. The Ricardo Franco State Park is located on the left border of the Guaporé River. This region is ideal for plenty of adventure sports, such as rappelling, trekking and amazing hikings next to the Amazon forest.

Manso Reservoir

Located 86km far from Cuiabá, Manso Reservoir was built in the early 2000s to generate electricity for the Manso hydroelectric plant. It is well-known for being a great site for water sports in a beautiful scenery. It is an ideal place for fishing and for trying to get different species of freshwater fish like the Cuiabá river The lake also provides an artificial beach, where visitors can practice plenty of water sports such as kite boarding and water skiing. If you want peace and serenity you must know Manso Reservoir. 

Jaciara

Jaciara is a small town in the state of Mato Grosso in the Central-West region of Brazil, between Cuiabá and Rondonopólis. There we can find plenty of natural beauties such as caves, rivers,  canyons and waterfalls.  You can visit the famous Fumaça’s waterfall, where you can practice rappelling and enjoy an exciting free fall. About two hours far from Fumaça’s waterfall you can go rafting in a private park. There you can also find natural pools with crystal clear waters, canyons and chutes. São Lourenço River and its tributaries hide many options of breathtaking rides.
